The rundown

  • Governor Youngkin plans to introduce legislation during the special session that would completely suspend the gas tax in Virginia for three months. Democrats in the Senate responded.

  • The president of the Virginia Association for School Superintendents clarified that not all 133 superintendents in the state backed the letter that VASS sent to Governor Northam’s administration.

  • Attorney General Jason Miyares called out Fairfax Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano for “progressive policies.” Read what Descano had to say in response.

It wasn’t 133 superintendents

President of the Virginia Association for School Superintendents (VASS) and Martinsville Superintendent Zebedee Talley discussed the letter sent to Governor Glenn Youngkin’s administration last week during a radio interview Wednesday morning.

He pushed back on the assumption that all 133 superintendents in Virginia agreed with a letter VASS sent to the Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow.
