Between 2020-2024, unaccredited roadside zoos in Virginia shipped at least 58 infant captive wild mammals out of state. The Natural Bridge Zoo shipped 53 prematurely separated animals between 2013-2023. HB 112 & SB 344 would help protect captive wildlife. Visit peta.org/VAleg
Spanberger ends 287(g) agreements with state agencies
Gov. Abigail Spanberger directed Virginia’s state law enforcement agencies and divisions — Virginia State Police, Virginia Department of Corrections, Virginia Conservation Police, and Virginia Marine Police — to terminate all existing 287(g) agreements with U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE).
