Welcome back and happy New Year! The last week may have been the slowest week in Virginia politics but the upcoming weeks will be the opposite as the General Assembly session begins on Jan. 11 and there is a crucial special election to replace Jen Kiggans in the state Senate on Jan. 10.

Republican candidates in a central Virginia state Senate district are trying to nationalize politics to try and gain Republican support from their district.
A Democratic delegate is strongly insinuating that you can spend time on a Zoom call with her if you send her money.
After Del. Marie March closed down one of her businesses, the employees responded on Facebook, by saying they found out they lost their job on Facebook.
Say outrageous things to get attention
Republican candidates in a central Virginia state Senate district are trying to nationalize politics to try and gain Republican support from their district. The incumbent, state Sen. Amanda Chase is facing a challenge from former state Sen. Glen Sturtevant and Tina Ramirez. Sturtevant has mostly been quiet so far ahead of the nomination battle later this year but Chase and Ramirez are working hard to please the base with comments mostly about national politics and not Virginia.
Chase (R) railed against Fox News and Kevin McCarthy in a statement Monday.
