Candidates have polls in the field
Candidates poll the electorate. It helps them with messaging and figuring out how to focus their stump speech.
It is extremely common practice — at least for the candidates who can afford to pay for it.
Below are two different polls in the field, one on the gubernatorial race and one on the Democratic lieutenant governor race.
While these poll questions do not reveal anything crazy, it is always interesting to see what they want to know from potential voters.
