The rundown

  • A new ad from Monty Mason focuses on abortion and has Republicans calling it a lie. However, both Mason’s ad and Youngkin’s team’s response are misleading.

  • Norment responds to LaRock’s write-in campaign with harsh words.

  • Authors and librarians have felt the pressure of recent book challenges in Virginia, and think the system for book challenges could be better streamlined.

More squabbles over abortion ads

Sen. Monty Mason (D) released a new ad this week attacking his opponent Danny Diggs (R) over the issue of abortion. Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s political operation is pushing back on the ad calling it a lie. However, both Mason’s ad and the Youngkin team’s response are misleading.
