Aaron Rouse releases new TV ad “Whatever It Takes” as part of six-figure buy

Democrat Aaron Rouse is releasing a new ad ahead of the Jan. 11 special election to replace Jen Kiggans in the state Senate. Kiggans is leaving to go serve in Congress after she defeated Rep. Elaine Luria (D) during the midterm elections last month.

Rouse is running against Kevin Adams to fill the seat for the final year of the term.

In the new ad from Rouse, he talks about his time as a Virginia Beach city councilor and NFL football player. This is a tight race in a district that Kiggans won by less than a point in 2019.

Transcript:

“Who else? Aaron Rouse!”

“Here we go: Aaron Rouse!”

“What a break on the football by Aaron Rouse!”

Before I was Aaron Rouse, the NFL player… I was just Aaron, from Seatack.

Mom raised us on her own.

My granddad told me: I was man of the house.

So I did whatever it took. Mowing lawns, pumping gas, cleaning buses.

It’s time for Richmond to get to work making life more affordable for Virginia families.
