DNC launches attacks on Kiggans and Wittman
The DNC is launching an ad campaign targeting Republican Reps. Rob Wittman and Jen Kiggans to hold them accountable for “trying to jack up health care costs in order to give massive tax handouts to the ultra-wealthy.”
In conjunction with the ads, the DNC is launching a strategic voter education campaign targeted to infrequent voters in these districts.
Sending texts to targeted voters.
Encouraging these voters to call Reps. Rob Wittman and Jen Kiggans to tell them to act to bring health care costs down.
Recruiting supporters to attend or host in-person gatherings and protests in these districts.
The new campaign will feature digital ads on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, along with billboards and bus shelter ads near local hospitals and clinics in the First and Second Congressional Districts.
DNC Chair Ken Martin issued the following statement:
“Right after the holidays, health care costs will more than double for families across Virginia because Congressman Rob Wittman and Congresswoman Jen Kiggans refuse to work with Democrats to fix this crisis. That’s why the DNC is going to make sure families everywhere know that Republicans are about to wreck their pocketbooks and price them out of health insurance. Through digital ads, billboards, bus shelter ads, and our state-of-the-art organizing team, we’re ensuring that voters across Virginia know that Republicans are solely to blame for the biggest premium increases in history. We should all be asking: Why is it that Virginia Republicans can make billionaire tax breaks permanent but refuse to prevent health insurance costs for working families from doubling?”
